Avois on Upgrade

Should I get Avios?

I booked direct with BA Economy ticket and upgraded using Barclays upgrade voucher to Premium.

Avios account shows = Ineligible flight. Is this correct? I would think to at least get Avios based on Economy ticket.

If you used a Barclays voucher you did not book a (cash) Economy ticket, you booked a Premium reward ticket and paid the Economy Avios. No earnings on reward seats.
