Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club BA 2-4-1 and not starting a journey from London

  • 6 posts

    Hi,
    Please help!

I’ve just rung up BA to book flights, Manchester to Johannesburg, flying back Cape town to Manchester using my 2-4-1 companion voucher in Bus Class from my AMEX. The lady I spoke to said I couldn’t do this, when I’ve been told in the past that i can. She said I’d have to pay to fly Man to London ( and the same for the return journey) and then use the voucher from London only, not only that Id have to pick up my luggage in London and then re check it in.

    My questions are:
    Is she right?
If not, is there a number I can ring where I can speak to someone who can give me the right information?
    Thanks in advance

Sounds like a HUACA situation. Domestic connections on 2-4-1 redemptions are acceptable, I have one for next Jan. I think the rule may be you can only use them starting in the UK (which is not just London)
Can you not book these online?

Don’t even have to worry about that either with these new ones

    To the OP hang up

Call again – saying I can’t book this online and then read off the flights … best of luck

Why don’t you book the outbound online then call again and ask for the inbound to be added. You probably won’t have any issues with a different agent, but that would demonstrate categorically that you can indeed book MAN-LHR-JNB on one ticket!

That is seriously bad even by BA call centre standards.

15.9 in the Ts & Cs

I think in that instance I’d ask for a supervisor so the agent could receive enhanced training.
