The 200 Tier points offer on the BA Amex ended yesterday.
I wonder if they are going to repeat the offer over the next 6 months? Needing an extra 80 points to get to Silver and spending on Amex is easier (and better for the planet) than flying to Billund!
Why would you need to go to Billund?!
Why would you need to go to Billund?!
To visit Legoland!
Oh well, yes of course, and I think there’s some interesting Viking thing there as well! But I seem to recall cash prices to BLL being very high if OP is flying from MAN. If you need 80 TPs you can do a UK mini break in CE for maximum convenience.
I did a search on BA’s cheapest club europe returns and Bellund was one of the cheapest and as has been mentioned, LEGOLAND!!!!
@danimal – while BA has now established the principle that it will sell (or in effect gift) tier points, there must be a finite number it is willing to offer on this basis rather requiring flying. I wouldn’t be relying on the offer returning that quickly, even if it may become an annual feature.
Prior to the change in spend requirement to trigger the 2-4-1 voucher, I had suspected it might become a more permanent offer as incentive for cardholders to continue spending beyond £10,000. I’d be curious as to how many cardholders have annual spend within a couple of hundred pounds of that figure.
@danimal, where is your BLL flight starting – I thought you were based up north? There is a MAN-BLL flight (Sun Air?) which I think gives TPs but historically it was very expensive.
I’m in London @NorthernLass – BLL from LHR in February is about £206 return and gets 80 Tier Points.
Ah ok, ignore me then! That is a good price, though you’ll need to wrap up warm for your Legoland visit, lol.
Has anyone had these tier points post yet? I’ve had the Avios go across but tier points balance unchanged.
My wife managed to trip 150 tier points on her BAamex card using the offer announced late 2023 and tripped spend back in March and they show on her baamex statement then but still not posted to her BAEC account which would trip her into Silver. How long should these transfers take? Wrote to BA end April after Amex told me the TPs had def been transferred by them but still no reply from BA customer service after nearly a month. Just get endless you are in queue emails from BA but no resolution. As the prelim scheme has now ended not at all impressed especially after spending an extra £15k with Amex to get these very expensive TPs!
I’ve had both the 100 then a single 50 post successfully a few days after hitting the spend.

All mine posted on Amex a few days after the threshold was met. They then transferred to BA with my Avios as normal.
@Swiss Jim have the Tier Points posted yet?
I’m getting nowhere with either Amex or BA. I’ve sent my Amex statements to BA showing the accrual of the TPs; Amex say the TPs should have been stripped out of the total Avios sweep to BA, but they haven’t been. BA say for ‘GDPR reasons’ (?!) they can’t help and I need to speak to Amex. Aargh.
No, nothing. Does your Amex statement show the tier points separated out? I assume it does (like mine). Have you raised a formal complaint with BA?

Amex confirm that I’ve earnt the TPs (two tranches) which shows on the Amex statements but both times on my BA account, the TPs are just added into the Avios, so instead of TP 150 Avios 8850 my BA account says TP 0 Avios 9000.
Yes did raise with Amex numerous times, as they’ve subsequently cancelled my Amex account – I suspect due to unusual spending chasing the TP challenge – and I guess I’ll lose access to Chat to chase them sometime soon.
Have just been back to them and they say ‘I can understand how you are feeling. Had I been at your place I would have felt the same….. …..once the issue is fixed, all the impacted card members will get the tier points transferred to their BA club accounts.’ That’s three times they say they are waiting for a technical fix. I’m not holding my breath 🙂
According to both the T&Cs and my own experience the TPs appear in your BA account 3 days before the end of the Amex billing period in which you earned them.
Still nothing for me. Chased again but it’s been 3 months now. Pretty outraged that it’s clear to all to see what’s happened but BA are simply refusing to fix it. Seriously thinking about ditching BA loyalty and building with a different One World member.
100 TPs mysteriously appeared in my OH’s BAEC account a couple of weeks ago, he didn’t register for the offer but I can’t think of anything else which could have triggered them 🤷♀️
