Is it possible to book flights with companion voucher in Prem Econ and if I see Business availability call BA and get them to switch to business? (Paying extra taxes and points)
.. if so I take it I could do it twice if one leg becomes available then later the other?

JYes though the difficult element might be actually getting through to BA before the CW availability goes.
I’ve done this a few times after a Seat Spy alert but at the moment if you’re not Gold you will be lucky to get through in time to book
I think there’s also the £35 pp change fee each time, so changing two legs on different days for the two of you would cost an extra £140.
