Hi all, I have the above which is due to expire on 5th Sept. if I book an outbound flight before this date but have to amend it to a date after the voucher expiry will it still be accepted or do I lose out.
No, unfortunately you can’t extend the outbound travel date beyond the original voucher expiry date. This was possible for a time due to covid-related extensions which enabled you to book a 241 flight and then immediately cancel it for an FTV valid until 30th September 2023 – article here https://www.headforpoints.com/2022/03/02/british-airways-companion-voucher-extension but BA put an end to it in March last year. I am in a similar boat in that I have a 241 expiring on 30th September having used the FTV route to get it extended.
The T&Cs for the 241 clearly state that outbound travel has to be before the voucher expiry date, although your return travel date can be after the expiry date: https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/executive-club/offers/terms-and-conditions/amex-companion
