Hasd an email from BA yesterday about an RFS that I’d forgotton I had turned into a voucher as it was from summer 2020
It reads –
We’re sorry you couldn’t travel on your Reward Flight Saver trip Booking reference xxxxxx.
You accepted a Future Travel Voucher however we know there are some issues regarding the use of vouchers associated with Reward Flight Saver bookings, so to offer you maximum flexibility we’ll be cancelling it and refunding you in full.
You don’t need to do anything. We’ll automatically credit the Avios back to your account and refund the money to your original form of payment. We expect this to take approximately 4 weeks and it means you’ll be able to use your Avios as you wish
I’ve no idea how far back they are going with these refunds so it may not apply to everyone with an RFS in an FTV.
Perhaps BA are trying to clear up their FTV system?
Got the same email – also from a voucher from 2020 I’d forgotten about. And I try to keep track of them! Makes me wonder if there are others that will just expire unless I go trough all my emails to find them, meticulously…
I hope they’re not doing these when the FTVs contain companion vouchers!
@NorthernLass According to the thread over on Flyer Talk this only applies to straight Avios RFS bookings and does NOT apply to those containing a 2-4-1.
Thanks AJA, I have 2 companion vouchers tied up in FTVs which were from RFS redemptions, plus one which was a straight RFS for 4 of us – not heard anything from BA about any of them!
I think you might get an email soon about the straight RFS booking. Not sure how long BA is taking to contact people but I suspect that they have a lot of people to contact. I also think they might be concentrating on FTVs from early 2020 rather than anything in the last 6 months. I don’t have any Avios RFS FTVs so don’t know. I only have one cash FTV from a cancelled BA Holiday in Sep 2020 but I still have the email and booking ref
This is exciting!
50p credit appeared on my credit card yesterday so 8 days from the email.
No sign of the avios though.

Oh wow, ChrisC! Don’t spend it all at once :-).
Thank you for being the voice of reason, calm and knowledge all this year. I’ve learned such a lot from you especially about BA Holidays. I hope all your Holidays work out next year !
