Hi, First time poster!
We are flying first class to Bahrain with BA, this Wednesday and back premium economy.Whilst I know I can pre-order a halal meal (“special meal”), does BA offer one halal (or even vegetarian) main course as standard on its flights to the Middle East? I recall on business they used to (pre Covid) have one main course item with language underneath it to say it was halal (on the menu card).
Additionally with the return flight starting in Bahrain, would all the options be halal by default?
Am asking the experts here as am getting contradictory information from BA. I know we can pre order the special but more often than not, it’s vegetarian and sub-optimal so would much rather be able to pick on the flight itself.

In my experience the food on ME flights in all cabins is halal
If you want a definitive answer then head to the first class menu thread on flyertalk. Highly likely there are a few menus from Middle Eastern flights posted and some regular first travellers posting.
It wouldn’t surprise me if all BA meat, on all flights, was halal. This is relatively common now amongst ‘bulk’ food operations.
Inbound from the middle east, the meat will be halal by default, and this goes for all carriers.
Apparently the reason is due to local supply chains rather than necessarily wanting to meet customer requirements.You’ve left it late but call You First and they can either read the menu to you or email it to you.
Most airline catered food/meat is halal and this is especially true for flights to Muslim countries.
Thanks for the responses! Phoned YouFirst, first person wasn’t very helpful. Called again in the morning and was told the menu over the phone and confirmed that all the meat on flights from the Middle East is halal.

But what about on the way TO the Middle East? What did BA tell you?
