Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA forms / Verifly for the US – need to do both now?

  • 271 posts

Hi, I only just flew to the US late June, but for our upcoming trip in 2 days it seems BA has changed process a little. Hoping someone has been through this already and can confirm…

I have completed Verifly for all 4 of us (2A & 2C) and have a valid pass for my BA booking ref in the app
Last night, BA sent an email asking me to upload COVID docs to them directly, which I have done but it now says ‘under review’

Will I need to wait on the BA review completing before OLCI, as it would suggest, or will the Verifly completion kick in somehow? I’m keen to do OLCI as we have Airportr collecting bags from our LHR airport hotel the night before we fly, and we need to have completed check in for that to be viable I believe.

Anyone with recent BA to US experience and can let me know if Verifly is still good, or if the BA process needs to be complete for OLCI please?

(Apologies if it has been asked before – I couldn’t find this particular issue).

Just returned from the US with family. Used verifly out and return and got a “pass” that we were good to fly. Neither time did it go through to our booking ref so we could not use OLCI.

From my 2 trips to US this year there was a hitch both times using verifly and OLCI was not possible.

From Heathrow to US it appeared that US authorities were not accepting home printed boarding passes which blocked OLCI and required a physical check-in and passport check.

On my return last week from JFK to CDG there was again a block on OLCI. When using the self-service kiosk at the airport this required a staff member to check our verifly and authorise check-in.

Although verifly speeded up the airline staff checking our “fit to fly” it did not allow us to OLCI.

However, when Verifly did not work for a trip to Netherlands and Spain uploading the required documents direct to BA for checking then allowed OLCI.

Thanks. I’ve now had verification that both adult’s docs are reviewed and OK. Still not had word back on the children verification yet – despite them having no docs to verify and I ticked the box saying so. Hopefully they turn up prior to lunchtime tomorrow or I will need to cancel my Airportr pick-up.

How long did they take to come through ? I just did mine an hour or so ago for a flight on Thursday

I done all 4 last night at 8pm. Both adults came through verified at 10am and 11am today. Still waiting on both kids confirmation.

I won’t hold my breath for the kids ones then, the adults took about 90 minutes.

Update on this – I didn’t receive any verification status for the 2 kids but I was able to check in for all 4 of us ok. Airportr just picked up our bags so all good for tomorrow morning I hope.
