Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA lounge access in Johannesburg

  • 34 posts

I am flying to JNB from London next month in Club World. From JNB I am flying to Durban on a connecting flight that I have arranged myself , not through BA.

I know that I can use the Business Class Lounge at Heathrow but can I also use it on arrival at JNB?

The reason that I ask is that I have left a good 3 hours between flights and if I do get through immigration and baggage etc early , would I be able to use the lounge there at all ?

I’m guessing not as the lounge would be in International departures?

It will depend on which airline you are using for the onward flight, and you travel class or airline status. You won’t be given access just because you’ve been on a BA flight.

No, because the BA lounge is in the international terminal but you will depart from the domestic terminal. There are a couple of lounges which you can either pay to use or get in with Priority Pass which you can get via a free Amex gold card.

Just a word of warning if you’re going to buy into one of the domestic lounges – I did the same route as you 2 months ago and used the Bidvest Premier lounge in the domestic terminal; nice enough lounge but absolutely packed with all the morning traffic, I doubt they control numbers. I lasted 15 minutes before leaving!
