3 weeks ago I booked the return leg of an open jaw companion ticket from MIA to LHR premium economy next March.
Despite taking the avios from my account they haven’t yet taken money from my AMEX nor issued my e ticket.
The reason I want them to issue the revised ticket is so I can book the seats I want. I have called BA 4 times and also had 2 on line “chats” and despite their assurances that it will be issued within 72 hours, nothing ever happens!!
Any suggestions as to how I can get things moving please?
Make sure they’re repopulating the CVV information (you’ll need to call for this) . I believe you’d need to do this every 7 days (or wait for them to contact you)
Agree with @SamG these are usually CVV issues. They can only store that code for 7 days and if they don’t action it quick enough it keeps failing until it’s updated again.
Had this issue just last week. Called ExecClub line and was sorted in 10 mins (although, I did have to call twice because the first agent sent me to the AerClub line, which obviously has nothing to do with BA)
I will contact them again today to see if they have a valid CVV number!
If you have cards saved on your BA profile, the agent will be able to see those and use whichever one you want. They’ll need the security code, but you don’t give that verbally, but rather input it via your telephone keypad. All quick and easy.
You also need to pay with the same Amex with which you paid for the outbound. If you don’t, and BA notices the discrepancy, they can refuse to ticket you/cancel the inbound/refuse to refund 50% avios if applicable.
(Technically you should be paying all the surcharges with the Amex which earned the 241, but BA doesn’t know if you used another one for the outbound leg. If you use a different one for the inbound leg, it’s then obvious that one of them isn’t the card connected to the 241!)
Its now 4 weeks since I booked my return and still no e ticket so I cannot book the seats we want. Every time I call/chat I get told yes it will be issued in the next 72 hours but it never is. I have rased a complaint but they say they cannot help me.
How do I really get some action????
Your ticket is in a queue to be reissued that gets dealt with in flight date order not on when you joined the queue
There is no way to accelerate that. Reissue usually only takes a couple of days but phone agents can’t actually see the queue and how long it is so just quote the standard period.
Hope for a sustained period without major irrops for BA to work through it.
