Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help Ba2166 holiday flight cancelled Sunday

  • 4 posts

    Hi all,

Trying to get your advise as got notification that our flight is cancelled from TPA to LGW on Sunday and we need to get back for my daughters school start Tuesday. We have a car rental as part our holiday booking due to be returned to TPA on Sunday prior to our flight. I guess we could fly from ORD or connect internally but wanted to get a second opinion prior to calling BA

Any guidance would be appreciated as our current Airbnb runs out on Sunday so don’t have the option to stay longer.

Go to MMB and look at what is being offerred.

Don’t forget there are some AA/BA daytime flights from Boston, Chicago and NYC on Monday morning.

As above, but if there aren’t any suitable options in MMB, you will need to call, but don’t do that until you have checked rerouting options that both suit you and have availability and realistically, while BA should offer you rerouting on any carrier, it’s only really worth proposing BA/AA alternatives to them. You need to do this as soon as possible as everyone else on your flight will be chasing limited options/seats, but keep your head! You only get one chance to rebook; you can’t go back later and ask for one you would, with the benefit of hindsight, have preferred.

BA should pay transfer from LHR to LGW which is worth looking at given many more flight options to LHR.

Just had a quick look, plenty of connecting options on Sunday, Charlotte looks best to me and easy connecting there. BA will tell you in advance they won’t pay a taxi back to Gatwick but they will. Uber it and then claim via their website with the receipt

As this appears to be a BA holiday booking then email the duty office with booking reference etc and list a couple of options of alternative flights that work for you.

It shouldn’t be a problem for them to rebook you on AA from Tampa to another gateway including Miami,
