I need to travel to regional China in a few weeks and have flights booked through China Southern, which I understand is a BA partner (for Avios not TP).
Does anyone have experience which China Southern, regarding either the general experience in business and how likely the Avios are to easily flow into my BAEC account?
Thanks in advance!
I’m talking just pre-covid but CZ in domestic business/first is fine but no more. I think you will be OK with getting the Avios credited but, as always, hang on to your boarding cards. I’m sure you know what you are doing but, for lots of routes, the train is often quicker and much more reliable – domestic flights are often subject to random delays beyond weather and ATC – the skies in some areas are very congested. If you were to go by train, note business is the highest class, above first.
I should add that if you travel business on the train you will get a very spacious segregated section, max eight seats with lie flat bed, full food service (no wine) an attendant for that cabin alone and two staffed loos – one hole in the floor, one western.
Sorry to come back to this again, but as I feared the points haven’t appeared over four weeks later. I submitted the missing points form on the BA website but this has been rejected.
Per @JDB’s advice, I still have my boarding passes, which show my BAEC number, but is there anything more I can do? The fact I could get points did away my decision over another airline so feel a bit hard done by!
I travelled on CZ in June, CZ flight numbers but BA 125 issued. Boarding passes all had my BAEC number.
I submitted once in July after they didn’t appear, and again in September when I realised it was rejected but hadn’t received an email notification. This again was rejected, again with no notification and I only spotted it in My Account.
I dropped a message to ‘BAMissingAvios’ on flyertalk with the flight details, ticket number and passenger details who responded ~48 hours later confirming the Avios had been credited.
Is your booking also on BA 125 issued? I have some upcoming flights but are CZ issued and can’t figure out a way to get my BAEC number in there – if you know, sharing would be much appreciated!
