I’m looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel in the heart of Barcelona that has a space suitable to work remotely.
A relatively quiet area with some desk space where I and/or my partner could make video calls. One of us can work from the room, but it would be impossible for both of us to work from the same room, unless there were two separate spaces.
The new Kimpton is an option.
The Kimpton Vividora? The rooms are very small, which I think it’s normal in the old town. They have a large conference desk on the 1st floor, next to reception, but it is open space so, you could be disturbed by anyone.
The Intercontinental has quite large rooms, so one could work in a room. The Club Lounge is usually quiet. So you could use that. There is the Club breakfast room, which gets closed off after breakfast. I am sure they will allow you to use that for working.
Intercontinental unfortunately is not in an area I can stay this time round.
If your budget stretches to places like the Kimpton, I’d get a suite somewhere 4* or slightly less new instead so you both have space in the room. Would probably cost around the same…
Plenty of hotels with public spaces that would often suit to work in (and you’ll almost certainly be close to coffee shops etc. that could be fine to work in) but it’s pot luck whether they end up busy and loud when you want to work.

The 4* suite with is a really good idea. I’ve seen some options with suites with two separate rooms. An aparthotel is also worth considering.
There are also several co-working spaces in the centre. Daily passes cost 25 euro, so that could also be an option.
