The Berlin IC is well documented on Flyertalk but here are my observations from a recent weekend stay.
Berlin is well worth a visit and the IC is an excellent place to stay, located on the south west edge of Tiergarten park. IHG status is well observed and after a few issues at check in we were allocated a junior suite, having booked a classic room. The junior suite was large and overlooked the river and park. The hotel was refurbished a few years ago and it shows.
The club lounge is located on the 8th (top) floor of one wing of the hotel. Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks/food are all first class. The lounge is somewhat similar to the IC Park Lane.
There is a very good spa and pool on the ground floor which we were able to use without charge.
Overall I highly recommend the hotel. It is very good value especially if you have IHG status.
Agreed, I go about twice a year for work. The Junior Suite is more like a one bedroom suite, but I’ve only been upgraded to it when booking a ‘Premium King’ rather than the Classic. Doesn’t make that much difference as a solo traveller though.
Still yet to experience the lounge as a lowly Platinum without a lounge pass. If anyone is there next March/April and has a means to get me in, I’d be most grateful!
