We are looking at more efficient ways to obtain hotel loyalty points and maximise our spend.
We tend to use both Hilton and Marriott. After scouring the internet for some time.
It seems that the best reward card for hotel points is currently the Amex Marriott Bonvoy, with the higher earning rate for staying at Marriott properties. We wish we had the HH Barclaycard but are aware that was discontinued some time ago for new applicants (why were we hesitant about it I never will understand.
Does anyone have any experience with the Marriott Bonvoy card? Any suggestions for any other good hotel loyalty card?
(I think the majority have been withdrawn e.g IHG Creation Card etc)
Notably were interested in the higher earning rate, in addition to the reward night voucher.

I would say that Amex currently have the best two hotel earning cards with the Gold MR earning card offering more options than the Marriott card for exchanging points for hotel points, with Hilton and the less favourable Radisson brands being available, as well as Marriot.
Of course there are two other Amex MR earning cards (Platinum & the free ARCC) but the Gold card offers more options to earn the largest amount of MR points, but for an annual fee of £195…free for the first year though.
