There’s an offer for bonus Tier points to be awarded for BA flights, depending on the class of travel. If booked by 31 December, they should be:
75 bonus points for Euro traveller
175 for Club Europe
etc
etc.
Do we know what fare class (ie the letter code) gets these (in this case) 75 bonus tier points awarded? I have examples of not getting them for classes L, H, N Q…. and getting them for classes Y, M, K and V. But I’ve also got examples of NOT getting them for classes M, K, and GETTING them for Q.
Question is – should I be getting them for each and every economy flight, no matter the letter within economy? And, if that’s the case, presumably I need to go back and complain….
(These 75 bonus points will be my only realistic chance of getting Silver for this year)
It’s clearly documented on the BA website if you make the effort to look

Fare class doesn’t matter, but HBO fares don’t qualify.

I did look – and it’s not crystal clear, hence my question. It refers to “Euro Traveller”, then in the small print, says “Basic Economy fares shall not qualify”….
Hence my question. I can’t tie the 75 Tier points I’ve been awarded to definitive fare classes.
I’ve been awarded them for L and H classes.
Economy Basic = HBO = does not qualify
Economy Standard = checked baggage = qualifies
As I said the fare class doesn’t matter. An expensive HBO fare will not get the bonus, a cheap(er) fare with checked bag will.

Ahh – thanks, that’s a helpful answer!
I tend to do my business travel to Dublin hand luggage only. So it appears that – and this is a bit niche – for frequent travellers who travel hand luggage only, in this introductory year of the new Tier Points earnings, a “cheap” way of getting 75 bonus tier points for £15, per flight, is to get a baggage allowance.
I’ll be doing that for the rest of this year (especially since my company is paying for the travel). As I said in my OP, it’s probably the difference between me keeping Silver for anther year and having it drop to Bronze.
@Kirkie – I’ve been awarded them for L and G classes – flights included baggage. However, the eligible fare on the G booking was only £14.50, so got 90 tier points in total.
After they’ve been awarded, if you go into the app and look at tab “recent transactions” in your account and expand “Flight” you will see all the info you need re booking class, tier points and Avios.
