Hello Everyone,
I’m try to book an hotel for my trip in Japan coming up next year.
Do you know if there is a way to avoid to pay on booking or Agoda in the local currency?
The 3% Amex exchange currency charge can be quite a lot sometimes. But I don’t see an option of “pay in pounds”.
I may just pay with my Monzo otherwise.
Thanks!
Try a different agent as sometimes hotelcombined links have allowed a sale in GBP
Booking.com uses local currency. Meanwhile Hotels.com will allow you to pay in GBP.
For Japan, I found that Booking tends to have more smaller properties like Ryokans also lately Booking was much cheaper than hotel/Expedia for some reason as they provided incentives when booking.
I use Tymit or Halifax clarity when using booking.com to avoid the high Amex charges.
