Forums Payment cards American Express Business supplementary card eligibility

    Hi all,

I currently have the Business Platinum and looking to issue a supplementary card to a family member. However I saw that for business cards they are referred to as “Employee” cards. Does anyone know if this literally means the additional cardmember has to be an employee/has a contract of employment? And if so do Amex actually check this?

While they’re not an ’employee’ in the strict definition, they are still involved with my business and would use the card for business expenses.

    Thanks!

Doesn’t matter. Legally the card is yours anyway and you are 100% liable for the charges.
