Hi
Three questions 🙂
I want to change my flight DATES for LHR-MEL return
Was 4th April-4th May
Now want 21 March-2nd May
I cannot seem to do this on-line despite what BA.com says??
I could cancel the whole trip-get an e-voucher and rebook, just seems a faff and adds a little risk as the voucher “could” take 7 days to appear (has been within an hour the last time I did this).
Q1 Is this the only way to do this?
Q2
The new flight is soley with QATAR.
It will be booked via BA.com so I assume the BWC will still apply??
OZ may close the boarders again post Feb 21st when all these infecteed tourist arrive…)
Q3 The layover at DHOA is 24hrs (both ways) ! Do I get a “free” hotel” as the flight is with QATAR?
Thanks
Is it a flight with a connection? I always get the message that my flights can’t be changed online and I assume it’s because mostly I will be connecting to or from MAN. I don’t think BA IT can deal with anything remotely complicated. Also might be an issue if you’re mixing airlines.
Yes it’s LHR-SIN-SYD-MEL
MEL-HKG-LHR
The change to Qatar would be LHR-DOH-MEL both ways…so not only cheaper but less changes.
Though there is the 24hr stop over both ways!
Yes, this is well beyond anything ba.com can handle. If it is a cash ticket then you may qualify for the free stopover, yes.
Note that if you are rebooking from ages ago you may be faced with a sharp price increase – I can’t believe seats haven’t shot up in price over the last few days.

The flights via DOH are actually cheaper.
Yes it was a cash ticket.
Sounds like I have to cancel, get an evoucher and then rebook?
How do I get the “free” hotel both ways?
You won’t get a free hotel with Qatar if there is another viable shorter connection that exists, even if there are no seats left available with that shorter connection. Suggest you check their timetable to see if that’s the case.
So if I book on BA.com and flight is with QATAR does the BWC still apply?
Thanks
So after finding the flight I wanted I thought I’d give the telephone a chance to see if I could change seemlessly…..
Amazingly got through after 3 minutes.
Explained what I wanted to change to.
CS came back after a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng silence that the “system” would not let her quote for the new route (should have been £150 less)
She could “send it to the back Office” for a quote-could take 3-4 days!
I gave up and hung up.
Cancelled the original-got an voucher after 90 minutes, then booked my chosen route via DOH both ways.
PS I was being thick about the stopover-it’s only under 2hrs each way. Was looking at the total time for the trip earlier!!!
