Can anyone confirm that join AMB to extend my IHG Dimond to next year?

I joined IHG Dimond via AWS offer, but can’t stay 10n before 2023. I have been told I can join AMB and extent my Dimond to next year. Is that real? if yes, can you tell me how to do that?
