I have googled this, but it never seems to quite answer my question and wondering if anyone knows… I am about to be gifted SAS gold for business reasons. The Star Alliance miles I collect are United as they are of some use to me, as opposed to SAS which aren’t. So, my question is, can I add the SAS FF number to bookings to use the SAS status for the luggage benefits, but then change the number after check in etc to my United FF account so that the miles are added to that?
Thanks
This may vary by airline/FF programme, but earlier this year I had TAP Gold but wanted to credit flights to Singapore Airlines where I had no status. I was flying with Swiss. I had my TAP number on my ticket at checkin, and went through to all the usual lounges at LHR T2. At the last lounge, I went on the MMB and swapped the number out with the SQ one. Miles credited to SQ within a week.
