    Hoping to book points flight for sister and niece to South Africa with a voucher, but i won’t be flying myself. Is that permitted?

    Yes, it’s a benefit of VS vs BA vouchers.

    To add some colour to this, have your sister or niece work out who is going to be lead booker, and have them both create a Flying Club account. Get the lead booker’s FC number from them, then call the VS line and ask to gift the voucher (you might as well ask for the expiry, and what other vouchers you have at the same time).

    There will be no confirmation of the voucher being gifted visible to the lead booker, but you will see a line item about an hour after doing it in your statement confirming the gifting of the voucher.

    They can then call to book – have them check availability online first.

    Officially, you are correct, but VS is often quite good at giving its agents leeway. Much of it comes down to who you get on the ‘phone – it definitely doesn’t harm in trying. If they won’t let you gift, I don’t think the terms specify that you must travel, so you could make all pax on the PNR someone other than you…

    if you’re using your own points and voucher to book for someone else then you don’t need to gift or anything like that. Just call up and make the booking using their name, there’ll be no Qs asked.

    Can you do this after the event?

    Have a cash booking (company travel agent) for solo traveler. Would be looking to use OH’s upgrade voucher after the event, is that even possible?

    You might be able to. I’ve never had a corporate booking that I couldn’t upgrade, but that’s with points. I would think vouchers are seen in the same way, but not sure. You’ll have to call and ask.

    You can just call them on the phone and have it booked right there

    Thanks @AL, looks like I’ll have to chance it.

    @Carlos
    not sure if your response was for me or OP, but in my case the main ticket has to be booked through the corp travel agent, only after the event can I try an upgrade.

    No for OP, in agreement with Bob
