My credit card anniversary is on 12th May and my points always credit to my VirginAtlantic account on the 12th.
I would prefer not to renew my card for the second year, but what happens if I cancel before 12th May? Will I still get this last month’s points on my final, closing statement, or will they vanish into thin air?
I have a vague recollection that Amex have been forced to credit points in this scenario, but I can’t find any references online.
I cancelled my card last week just ahead of the statement being produced and was wondering the same thing but the points transferred as normal so you should be fine.
Have you checked whether you’ve already been charged the annual fee – Virgin Money are notorious for taking this early?!
