To benefit from the Amex car insurance do I have to pay for the car rental using my Amex? Also, does Hertz Gold Plus Rewards or Avis President’s Club offer better benefits? Thank you in advance.

Also for travel insurance to claim stuff do I have to pay for everything with my Amex card? Say my baggage is lost and I have incur expenses because of it.

The question has been asked and answered several times. But why not read the policy so you have accurate information.

Cause the policy doesn’t state if I have to use the card or not for the car rental insurance. At least not in anything that I have read thus far.

You will find the answer under ‘eligibility’ at the start of the policy terms. As @dougzz99 insurance is incredibly important, particularly if you need to claim, so you are best to check these things for yourself or by calling Amex rather than asking a random person on the internet. While I’m sure advice is given here in good faith, such advice is often wrong or incomplete and might not apply to your specific circumstances.

Thank you for the direction – I will go and reread that section.
