Looking the best option on accumulating points from expenditure to reduce flight costs to Orlando, Florida. I have property interest there and will be travelling at least once every two years with my family of five. We are NI based and likely to be flying from Dublin or Belfast connecting in UK.
Both my partner and I are on just over 60k a year with spending commensurate with that annual income. Any help appreciated never looked at reward cards before and not sure if it would definitely be worth the hassle. We also intend to visit NYC regularly.
You would benefit from reading Rob’s articles about the different cards, as well as various threads under the relevant headungs. Don’t forget as well you can earn and use avios on Aer Lingus and various One World airlines which would reduce the need to fly via the UK!

Read through them over last couple of months bit of a minefield.
Wondering if still worth it for maybe not as regular a traveller but with a large cost accruing flight on a fairly annual basis if that makes sense.
Torn over Amex gold for flexibility and the BA avios Amex for the purposes of transferring potentially as you mentioned.
There is the part pay with avios option on most flights but to be honest those really aren’t good value. The 3000 avios for £30 is a good option but it rapidly descends so you get less that half that the more avios you use.
With that level of spend you coukd get a 2-4-1 each which would help but reward availability for 5 could be tricky with some destinations.

That as in card each for daily spends?
Yeah that was my concern, with reward availability and it would be school holiday travelling. Trying to particularly reduce the costs of getting to Florida and make my money go bit further.
