the other day I made a payment online for my loan with V12 retail finance using the barclaycard instead of my debit card and this has been categorised as ‘FI – Merch & services’ I believe it is not considered as cash-like transaction?

Paid £5 to Motonovo the other day as I recently financed a car and saw they accept debit and credit card payments. £5 test payment with through and also has been categorised as “FI – Merch & Services”
No cash advance charge has appeared but I’ve also been awarded Avios for it so looks like I shouldn’t be charged for it!

thank you! I contacted customer service by apple chat (imessage) whom told me that it would be cash-like transaction but wouldn’t tell why so panic mode, paid £6 straight away to avoid any further fees and interests. then contacted the customer service over the phone yesterday and have been told that i wouldn’t be a cashlike transaction and in fact like yourself i have been awarded with avios too. I would have thought that if it was cash advances the category would be ‘Cash-like transaction’ we will actually only find out when the statement is generated!
