@bigmaggot – T3 is the oldest active terminal at LHR but has the newest and very modern baggage system and T3IB can manage an untagged bag as it will also be coded elsewhere and will still have been screened and cleared for loading. The new T2 system will be tote based so no tag, no problem.

Data point from me, I always mean to post them here as I don’t know anyone else who may appreciate them, and forget!

Last night Voco London Marylebone. An easy and pleasant stroll from the Elizabeth line at Paddington station on a Sunday evening.

No upgrades available at check in. I’m not one to fuss around this as I’m IHG Plat not so not even their top, but the lady was very apologetic. I later realised this was probably because the cheapest room category, which I’d booked, is hilariously tiny! It’s about big enough to fit a double bed and that’s it. Save for the Premier Inn ZIP property at the back of a health club in suburban Cardiff this was the smallest room I’ve ever seen. Even some Hub by Premier Inn rooms are bigger than that, and they really are tiny.

On the plus side the delightful check in agent gave me free breakfast and a free drink. Usually it’s a choice of drink or points but I received both on this occasion (I know you do sometimes get both by accident / silent generosity).

The breakfast room has 30 seats and seems to be the size of a normal hotel’s reception. The actual reception is the corridor from the front door to the lift. The bar isn’t a bar at all, it’s fridges full of bottled alcoholic and soft drinks in the corner of the breakfast room.

Despite that I can’t fault the staff nor the quality of the food on offer. A very odd property and one I’d probably never have booked if I hadn’t seen it here. I may stay again if it were on sale but I’d avoid if you are the type who likes a leisurely breakfast dining experience or there’s more than one of you occupying a room. Everything feels cramped. Rate was £130 and 5% cashback paid out via monzo, non-refundable. Let’s see if I get my bonus points offer.

Is anyone else experiencing difficulties accessing their mobile Amex app?

Mine just keeps loading on the main page… I have not been able to access account information all morning.

Nectar are doing 20% bonus on conversions to Avios for September.

    ooo

That could be good. I’ve still got over £400 of nectar points, I’ve desperately tried to spend them on every offer that’s cropped up, even got myself 30 Caffè Nero vouchers on the final day.

Morning. If I make an interim payment to my BA premium amex after the statement has been generated but before the direct debit does it reduce the direct debit in the same way that Barclaycard does ? thanks.

It always has in my experience including for cashback credits from offers for spend post statement period end date. You will generally get an email to confirm the DD has been adjusted for the payment albeit that can take a few days to come through.

Good Morning from Newquay airport. No lounge of any denomination available.

What happened to the Harry Potter cupboard at Newquay?

It’s been a while since we discussed Skype but my credit still remains active for me to call BA, Virgin and all other 0800 numbers free from wherever for what seems for ever.

However as a HfP’er who spends a lot of time abroad I have found BOSS Rev app to be the best value unlimited calls to the U.K. at a tenner a month.
