I posted this on the general chat, but it’s more specific to BA. I am not sure which option to choose on the booking page. My child will be 15 years on the day of outbound flight but 16 years on the return flight as will be having his birthday during the trip. Do I choose the 12-15 years option or put him as an adult? There is a price difference due to APD so wanted to double check.
Not sure if this applies to this threshold change, but in the case of a lap infant changing to a fare-paying child, BA says that they will honour the price of the age at the time of departure, BUT, will require a phonecall to sort. Best to call, I’d say!
If he will be 15 the day he leaves the UK then that’s the rule that will apply – no APD as it only applies ex UK departutes
Note the ‘child’ exemtion applies only to economy.
it won’t require a phone call
For a cross over for a baby becoming 2 you do need to call as BA needs to assign a seat as over 2s can’t be lap sat.
