An interesting offer has appeared on my Gold card (but not so far on my platinum). The wording of the offer is slightly odd, as it doesn’t specify “per pound spent”, although I suspect (hope) it’s how the offer works. I’ve copied the wording below, however based on the exact wording, it would suggest a rate of 10 MR points per booking rather than per pound spent, which is obviously less compelling!

Save to Card to get 10 MR Points points on eligble spend of £1+ online at American Express Travel Online by 2/7/2023.Valid every time up to 10000 MR Points for the first 10,000 Cardmembers to save. Terms, locations, payment restrictions and future communications about this offer will apply.

The offer implies 10 MR for every £1 spent
10,000 MR max will be given, so thats £1,000 from a booking to reach the max in the offer.

Normally Gold cards get 3 MR per £

Be wary as I found hotels on Amex at a minimum 20-30% more expensive than like for like at hotels/skyscanner etc

I’ve messaged Amex chat and they’ve confirmed it’s per £1. I agree the terms seem vague, though if it was 10MR bonus per booking would this be the least offer-y offer ever popped up?!
