I have a companion voucher that is going to expire soon and want to use it. We are a family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 kids (3yrs)), I am not sure if the following is a good exchange for the voucher.
Edinburgh to Dubai where edinburgh to London is business class and London to Dubai is economy and same in return, i.e Dubai to London is economy and London to Edinburgh is business class. The total price for us is 150,000 avios + £400 plus 1 companion voucher.
Is this a good use of the voucher?
any opinions?
Any use is a good use if you actually want to go there and the voucher makes it cheaper than the price you would have been willing to pay if you had no avios.
You can compare two different redemptions to see which one is a better use of the voucher, but as your voucher is expiring soon, the comparison might be between using it and not using it.
yes, that is true in the perfect sense. It’s been a while since I last used the voucher and it was hard to make some sense whether it is a good deal.
As you say, not using it would mean the voucher would go to waste. In that sense, it better to take this deal.
Thank you
