Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes Confused re which Frequent Flyer to credit to

It’s crunch time for me on Monday as I will book my return flight Helsinki – Perth, travelling out 1 Dec 2025 and returning 3nd of March. We’ll get a separate London to Helsinki flight as it’s cheaper this way. My husband and I are both Silver with BA.
I have tried reading all the forums and help topics but due to a medical issue meaning I struggle to understand and retain information, remain confused by everything. Which, in your opinion is the best programme for me to credit to in order to try and retain equivalent silver level. I’ve tried reading about Qatar, Finnair and Iberia as well as BA and remain non the wiser. Any advice will be much appreciated.

I’m afraid there isn’t an easy answer as which scheme is best for you is dependent on the flights you are going to take.

    They all have different requirements.

QR has a 4 QR flight requirement so unless you can do those within your normal flying pattern I would exclude them for example.

Do you already have any TP in BAC? Also do know how many TP you’d earn if credited to BAC? Using the Avios and TP calculator on the BA website if I class on Finnair you’ll earn 2032TP each way from HEL to PER. That means you’ll have 4068TP towards the 7500 required to retain Silver. You’ll also earn some TP for your separt LHR-HEL flights So unless those flights and what you have now add up to over 7500TP I don’t see what would be achieved crediting to BAC given that the current TP collection year will end on 31 March 2026 barely 4 weeks after you get back from Perth.

I don’t think you can earn the equivalent to BA silver from your flights to Perth and back.

@Dawn as per BA Flyer, you haven’t mentioned which airline(s) or route you are going to take, that would be the first step in helping you work out which scheme to credit to

Also what other flights do you have planned between now and December?
