Is there a trick to finding availability to use the Free Night vouchers? I have a couple to use. On the website, I just put eg London as the destination. It then comes up with some options (eg Holiday Inn Express Greenwich), but they all say “Rooms are not available for UK Credit Card Free Night on one or more of the selected dates.” It doesn’t seem to matter what the destination or dates are! I think I’ll have to forfeit the vouchers 🙁
The usual answer is to tell you to stop using the app and use the website but it seems that there is an issue with IHG as it won’t let me book points rooms either right now. So I imagine when they fix that, the free night vouchers will be working again.
Yes, there seems to be a glitch since early this morning for points bookings, so I would wait a day or so and try again.
There are various issues with the free night certs, don’t use the app as suggested, but also you need to start over for each new search – if you just change the date or city, it will throw up the “no availability” message.
The vouchers are still book by rather than use by, arent they?
All good today. Thanks for your help, folks. Yes – they seem to be book by rather than use by – I have used mine for June and July, but they would have expired next month.
Yes, don’t forget that even though you can book beyond the expiry date, if you have to cancel a booking after that, you lose the voucher.
I’m just mulling this over now, we have 2 vouchers expiring early April and have used them for a June booking at a hotel which doesn’t open until May – not sure how wise this is?!!
