Forums Hotel loyalty schemes IHG One Rewards Custom Upgrade Opportunity – anyone seen this?

  • 11,447 posts

The magic e-standby upgrade offer has appeared on a booking I’ve made at the Indigo Manchester with an option I’ve never seen before:

    “Custom Upgrade Opportunity:
This item to be used only when recommending upgrades that are not listed. Please ensure to provide an upgrade price and a comment with upgraded room type
NOTE: CUSTOM UPGRADES POST PER NIGHT! So if you wish to charge one time, like ECI, change the date to last night so it makes one charge vs. multiple.”

It gives you a price – in this case £43, however when I clicked through there was nowhere to enter any request. Possibly this appears when you confirm the upgrade, but it’s a bit risky otherwise to commit yourself to paying for something which isn’t actually specified.

Looks to me like someone at the hotel hasn’t completed their bit of the back end to load the room type(s)
