    Despite all the telephone calls and promises of things being sorted I certainly didn’t expect to find the interest charge hit the account yesterday. I was assured that this was all noted on the account and would not even appear. Another phone call after coffee this morning.

    my new policy: never ever believe what amex and virgin cust service say. call again to triple check. make a note of everything.

    the other day they said my ikea cashback didn’t track because i didn’t shop from one in the list. except i did. I asked them to send me the list of ikeas where the offer was valid. they did. I said here it is, wembley ikea. they said but it doesn’t match. i said there is only one wembley ikea.

    I escalted it, at least I think I did.

    why? becuse they are remarkably dumb.

    I have noticed that Amex Debit Card payments are becoming less stable and trickier. Seems the post code of the debit card when you try and add a card now must match the post code on the Amex Card. Found that generally using the App to make payments is much more stable than the website.

    I do wonder how long it will be until Amex drop debit card payments, it feels like that is where they would like to get to. At the moment they definataly want the card to match the account and using technology to try to enforce that more and more.
