Forums Payment cards American Express Direct Debit issues?

  • 29 posts

Has anyone else had a direct debit due recently? My monthly DD is due to come out on the 17th of each month. I got an email this morning saying thank you for paying, and in my app shows the amount due as £0.00, with the current amount reduced accordingly to only affect this transactions on the present month’s statement.

However my bank account has a balance after pending with nothing showing as having been deducted. The bank have also confirmed they have no pending or recent transactions from Amex either today or since November’s DD went out.

Don’t want to get any late payment charges etc.

I see this every month. The payment usually comes out of my bank the following day. I don’t worry about it. Don’t forget also that your DD date is several days before you payment due date so a slippage of one day or so will not be a problem.

you have DD in place and they messed up it is their responsability (ie you havent cancelled the DD and you had money to cover the statement), don’t worry. it takes about 2/3 days to clear post the collection date so it doesnt then contact customer service
