Hello All.
Qatar Airways have a promo starting in June called “Dine On Us” which gives each Privilege Club pax travelling to/from Australia $20 to use in food outlets at the airport. I used the Google search method to search the HfP Forums for this topic and although one hit showed up the post & thread seems to have been removed.
Anyway, initially I wasn’t excited by this as I won’t be hungry because of the business lounge(s) but the small print lists the participating outlets and it looks like we could buy portable goodies to gift or scoff later.
So, can anyone recommend somewhere from this list that has great chocolate, Indian sweets, Arabic style delicacies or other portable goodies please? I have done my own research as to possibles but recommendations are always worth seeking.
Airport Juice Bar, Airport Tandoor, Baladna Express, Baladna Mart, Basta, Brioche Doree, Burger King, Burgeri, Chaclate, Chapati & Karak, Coffee Shop Company, Comptoir Libanais, Costa Coffee, Daily Chef Nouf, Day2day Eats, Eat Greek, Emporio Armani Caffé, Emporio Armani Ristorante, Evergreen Organics, Fendi Caffe, Flat White, Flo Café, Giraffe, Gordon Ramsay Burger, Harrods Tea Room, Illy, Jaipur, Jamocha Café, Jones The Grocer Express, Jones The Grocer Social, KFC, Last Call, Le Grand Comptoir, Le Petit Belge, Le Petit Camion, Levito, Maia Coffee & Chocolate, Noodle Cart, Oreo Café, Ralph’s Coffee, Red, Remman Café, Shawarma Station, Simit Sarayi, Slicy, Snowflake, Street Pizza Gordon Ramsay, Sweet Stop, Usta, Venchi, Wagamama, Wok To Walk, Work & Fly, Yo Sushi and Yum Cha.
I like the Jones outlets but more for food than takeaway sweets.
In Terminal C I saw an outlet or two that had lovely Arabic sweet things on trays but couldn’t tell you the names. Things could be put in boxes to take away. They were not Western chain names.
Not sure how far A$20 is gping to get you with the prices though – I’d view that as a coffee+1 item and not much more in most places there.

Thanks @LadyLondon. I’m loving the sound of “lovely Arabic sweet things” – exactly what I had in mind! I don’t know the airport at all, so will check if we can get to Terminal C.
I hadn’t considered the prices aspect but will now assume that we’ll have to top-up even though there are two of us, so $40 each way 😉
