I have a slightly bizarre (in my opinion) query relating to a BA holiday booking. Following an online chat, I feel more confused than ever. I am booked with my partner to travel EDI-LHR, LHR-LCA and LCA-LHR in June this year. The holiday is for 10 days and was booked through the BA call centre. Whilst on the phone I upgraded all the flights from Econ to Club Europe. I have read on numerous pages that I will not earn additional tier points on the upgrade element, yet on my booking it states I will earn 200 tier points. This appears to differ from several messages that state I will NOT earn the higher Tier Points.
Additionally, I have booked this holiday whilst the double tier points offer is active. Will I receive the double tier points on this booking also? I am keen to get opinions as it will be the difference between Silver and Gold taking into account other flights
Any help greatly welcome
Thanks
Because you have flight + hotel for more than 5 days all booked with BA holidays you are supposed to get the double tier points.
Where do you say you saw that was not the case?
(The only thing I have heard is only the main passenger getting the double tier points and not its companions – that is incorrect but I don’t know what BA is doing about it-)
Hi Yonasl
I was told by the BA chat person that no further tier points were due on the booking.
Regarding earning tier points on the upgrade, I have seen messages in this forum and in articles
If you bought flight plus hotel in economy and then upgraded to CE with cash … you are flighting CE and getting the 40 + 80 + 80 tier points (as you clearly already see on MMB).
You should later (much later) get double that because of the BA holiday offer.
You don’t get tier points when you use Avios or a 2-4-1 voucher. (Even if there have been exception lately with BA mistaking a FTV with a normal cash ticket)
