If someone takes out the Platinum card and spends the required £6k (earning the 65k bonus points) in the first month rather than over six months, at what point could they downgrade to a Gold card and keep the points ?
I presume after the points have posted (roughly how long does that take ?) OR is there a clawback rule if you don’t hold it for x amount of time ?
Cheers.
No clawback rule, I did exactly this when I signed up for the Platinum in early March 2020 (spectacular timing). Hit the spend target in about 6 weeks, got the points (think they appeared in my account pretty quickly after hitting the target, waited a few days at the most), then immediately downgraded to Gold. No clawback and you get to keep the points.
