I am in the lounge @ DUB T1 (which can be accessed without any need to show ID/flight/status etc incidentally) – is it the most useless, cramped lounge on the planet? Admittedly, it’s less crowded now that a flight to CDG had just been called but the provision and space is pitiful.
Owned by the DAA if recall. I used to use it when I had the PP via Amex Plat, but boy was it bad even then! I actually remember finding a beer once behind a tin of coke in the drinks cooler/fridge thing hidden down in the corner! Felt like I’d won a raffle! Problem is its the only option, terrible, and a complete waste of money for anyone who hasn’t yet had the pleasure.
No the very worst tho, you obviously havent been to Minsk 🙈
Ha ha, ok, I shall take your word for that. To be fair, only half of the lounge was open when I wrote my original message so it isnt as tiny as I had first thought but it is as inadequate. As you say, if I
d paid actual hard cash I would be extremely unimpressed.
Despite being in Dublin, they can’t even manage to serve fresh Irish soda bread. Instead it’s individually wrapped slices in plastic that taste like they were baked 3 days previously and are sand dry. However, there is a shower and for that alone it’s been worth a PP visit when connecting while Aer Lingus have had their lounge open only intermittently and showers closed entirely. For info, T2 lounges are also accessible to you – you just need to walk left after T1 security instead of walking right towards T1 shopping. The DAA’s premium East Lounge is pay to enter and more akin to the 1903 lounges in MAN.
I had a flight at around 6PM so was all checked in and past security by 4:45 ish, and the only lounge that was open then (this was only last week) was CLOSING at 6PM. It was also in a different terminal (I was flying from T1)x Needless to say I didnt bother 😀
