Question re redeeming from Emirates Family Accounts

Just checking if anyone is familia with the specific rules of the Emirates family pooling account, as the instructions don’t seem clear to me.

Are you actually able to use the miles collected in these accounts for standard award redemptions? The terms seem to mention upgrading but nothing about straighforward redemptions. Am I being dumb?

I don’t want to dump a load of MR points into my Emirates account to find out I can’t use them.

Yes you can
Click on: “Advanced search: multi curry, promo codes, partner airlines” on the emirates.com homepage, then you tick ✔️ “Book my family travel” then you can redeem from the family pool.

Make sure they family accounts are all set up before you transfer
It’s not like BA (in my experience) where points earnt before they become a family member can be pooled.
With emirates family it can only pool points earnt after they become a family member.

Yes you can as that’s how we usually redeem. Never had an issue as long as you have the full total of required miles in a single family account.
