Morning. I’m off to Namibia in a couple of weeks with Ethiopian from Man. As I’m very promiscuous when it comes to flights other than BA Club (less said the better!) I’ve not bothered with other FF schemes. I’m booked economy and as the sectors are relatively short with quick connection times I’m not particularly bothered about paying to fly business.

I find it difficult to sleep on planes even in business so don’t really have the benefit of sleeping flat just more space. There is an option to upgrade now I can select seats from £750 for man – Addis leg. My question what sort of level should I bid? You can go up to about £1500 which to me is too much. My thought is the my luck and put in a slightly more than minimum bid. If accepted then happy days. The downside is if my bid is accepted but my wife’s is not!!!

Bid what YOU believe it is worth to YOU and have your wife’s bid at £5 higher.
That way you might get what you want but she should be accepted ahead of you.
Alternatively, make sure your bid is £5 less than what your wife believes the seat is worth to HER so that the risk of your bid being accepted / hers rejected is minimised.
