According to various news articles today “Fairmont Windsor Park owner ordered to tear down hotel after ignoring planning rules“, which surprised me I hadn’t even realised there was a planning issue with the hotel.
Isn’t it just one wing and some treehouses, not the entire hotel?
As usual journalists don’t know how to read the documents. It clearly states they need to demolish just the the parts that don’t comply with original planning permission. But looking at the site, the wing is huge, so not sure if it will make sense to them to continue operations given the costs of demolishing and removing all the waste.
They have until 7 October next year to do that. They can also appeal and that can take quite a while and given that Gove has the final say I doubt anything will happen.
