New to collecting Avios & after some guidance please?
Looking to book a business class return for family of 4 to Mexico City from Heathrow in 2027.
Does each leg have to be booked separately & if so how would one go about that using predominately points & 241 vouchers? I assume it will be around 360,000 points & 4x 241 vouchers doing it this way.
If you have 2 BAPP Amex companion vouchers in your name you can book all 4 seats together using both vouchers.
You can book the outbound first and then phone to add the return when the seats are released (assuming you’re booking 355 days ahead. Otherwise you can book both outbound d and return at the same time if the seats are available.
If 2 vouchers but in separate names you’d both have to be online trying to nab the seats.
Someone posted the other day that an amenable BA agent will book with 2 vouchers at the same time, the person calling needs to be named on the other one’s account.
@DeCaelo, if you’re that new, you should take some time to read the articles and threads on here about avios and 241s. You have plenty of time before 2027 availability is released! There’s no guarantee the system will even be the same by then, so keep your options open.
As Northern Lass said, as long as you are named on the others account no problem. We called the USA hotline at midnight and used 2 vouchers for 4 of us travelling to Cancun next month. All very straightforward although I have heard you may have to try ringing a couple of times to get an amenable agent but we were lucky 1st time.

Set the nominee up in BAEC online (my profile IIRC)
Call the day before you need to make the booking to check you can access the other account with the magic words.
Thank you everyone. It’s a lot to take in for a newbie, but I’m getting there.
Would I be right in thinking that a 2-4-1 return booking for 4 people, would only take 2 vouchers total? Or is it 2 for the outbound + 2 for the return.

Assuming BA companion vouchers (Amex) then one voucher is valid for two people on a return trip; ergo, two vouchers for four people return.
