Does BA ever open up fare classes J,C,D, or R to avios bookings? I have a flight coming up in a weeks time that I’m keen to upgrade from WT+ to CW and there is quite a few revenue tickets still available but, as things stand, no reward fares.
‘I’ class is the one to look for and it needs to have quite a lot of seats available for there potentially to be extra 241 availability, let alone ordinary Avios availability.
That said, BA does often add Avios availability nearer the time, particularly if the overall profile of the flight is less busy than expected and/or Avios cancellations can go back into reward inventory. Set an alert and hope for the best.
