Just has an e-mail from IHG
1. Any F&B benefits already selected will have their expity date extended to 31/12/23. This will show in January
2. They are saying ‘by March’ they will have it up and running in the USA and Canada
3. Still no date for Europe or anywhere else in the world.
If it helps they are still ‘excited’ about F&B rewards and ‘can’t wait for you to be able to experience them’ !!!
Shambolic indeed. Why launch something that you had no roadmap for delivery – they could have waited until they worked out what they were going to do with them and then do a “we listened to your feedback and now there’s even more milestone rewards choice”.
It sounds like at least a number of months until they are available to spend ex-US. I’ve chosen them, purely because they are better value than the points, ie. at 40 nights (5x£15 vs 10k), here is hoping they figure it out sooner than later, and even when they finally do it may not be plain sailing.

which explains why I’ve been charged 26 quid for a half bottle of wine from the mini bar. Still no f and b credit even though I’m ambassador diamond…is that correct, one stay was in italy and one in istanbul, neither applied this to my ambassador, am hoping someone will tell me theyve got that wrong!

Maybe you’re well aware how if not, you’re still entitled to a $15 F&B credit by way of being an Ambassador (if this was an IC stay), that should be pretty seamless.
Do we know how they’re going to work yet? Presumably not as simple as having $120 total F&B spend during your stay and using say 5x$20 credits all at once to leave a balance owed of $20? I have visions of some madly complex system of applying them per F&B transaction at the time, with an element of making it difficult to use like the ‘resort fees’ in ICs in New York that run to a clock no one understands.
