Just back from Tanzania and a Qatar cancellation mess meant we went LHR-ADD-JRO with Ethiopian out and ZNZ-NBO-LHR back with Kenyan/BA. BA was a reward flight in CW and luckily enough they were rammed so a bunch of Gold BAEC got upgraded into First, us included. It’s the only time I wished I had not been upgraded though as the CW cabin was Club Suites.
Crew during boarding were friendly, but unhelpful and at other times in the flight nowhere to be seen until breakfast. There was not enough bedding loaded for First and a bunch of people had the thin blankets in a very cold cabin. Food was utter garbage – a panini that would have made Ryanair admit it was crap and breakfast was the usual reheated egg nastiness with terrible pastries.
I haven’t slept well and have a day of work ahead. Tanzania holiday was awesome and a quick vent on a forum makes me feel a bit better.
But come on BA – get your damned act together. Some people in that cabin paid a small fortune for those seats.
I flew in BA First a couple of years ago and had exactly the same experience. I could not believe how awful the breakfast was and would certainly never consider going BA First ever again. Virgin upper or Emirates first class are so far superior to BA in every respect.
