Anyone managed to signed up from UK to get Marriott Platinum?
What is this scheme? I’ve never heard of it.
Hope Rob doesn’t mind a “rival” link here; but here’s the explanation.

Hyatt kicked a whole bunch of elites out (and some hotels) who participated in a pay-to-earn-status scam run through China, points forfeited. I’d steer well clear personally.

It’s been better reported on other blogs as fully supported by Marriott because it’s a paid status match opportunity however there’s nothing to stop anyone ditching it after 4 months, opening a new Marriott account and doing it again which is why this news has hit the virtual presses.
Marriott’s marketing dept love it as it shows their new aquistition numbers are ever increasing. That’s what they’ll be targetted on. Unfortunately the hotels bear the cost and big daddy is laughing all the way to the bank.
