Hi,
My wife and I had our LHR-EDI flight on 20 Feb at 1830 cancelled at about 1300 that same day. We only found out about the cancellation as my wife happened to look at her BA app. We were never informed by BA. We called BA and they put us on a flight the next morning LCY-EDI. We obviously had to spend an extra night in London and I ended up late for work the next day.
Are we able to claim any form of compensation from BA for this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
There are several threads already on this topic so just have a scan down the BA board also in todays and yesterdays main chat threads.
The extreme weather last weekend will give BA a get out for UK261 compo but they do owe you Duty of Care ie. reasonable hotel & meal expenses (generally they won’t quibble up to £200/night for hotel & £25/head/meal for food but no alcohol).
I’m afraid BA are very stingy with discretionary compo gestures so wouldn’t expect much more.
