Is there any way to know why a flight was delayed and how long the official delay was?
Was flying Wizz BUD-GLA last night. Pilot just said flight was delayed getting to BUD and when it arrived it was dirty so needed extra cleaning. Was scheduled to arrive 10.10pm to GLA. By my reckoning doors opened at 1.10 or 1.11am but flight radar has flight landing at 1.03am…
Flightradar24 reports landing time, so the gate time will be later. Google suggests an arrival time of 0109, which doesn’t help if you’re trying to make it three hours.
@AndrewT, don’t know who decides official gate time but I’m sure it would be in Wizz Airs best interests to declare 1.09 and not the actual 1.10 or 1.11 it actually was…
Also I have no idea if the previous delay in Tel Aviv was “extraordinary” either. Not sure if it’s worth the effort of making a claim with Wizz Air anyway 😂
It seems you don’t have a delay of 181 minutes or more.
@Richie, I reckon it was 180 or 181 mins delay 😂 Too tight to call but I’m sure airline will see it as 179 mins…
Put a claim in for a 3 hour delay, and see what they say. It’s the time that the first passengers are able to leave the plane, so first passenger door open.
In future, make a contemporaneous note of when the doors open (eg WhatsApp to someone). You could also take a photo of them closed at 180 minutes late.
You could also take a photo of them closed at 180 minutes late.
How do you do that when the aisles are full of people and bags waiting to get off?

Also with all the fake videos around plus people adjusting the time on their phones to game the system, this sort of stuff really is a bit noddy. There are official contemporaneous records if someone really wishes to argue this sort of thing.
Did consider taking a video but my seat position wasn’t great so probably wouldn’t have shown much…

Are commercial aircraft movements in Israeli airspace likely to be impacted by non commercial aircraft movements?
My guess is probably.
