My friend in Georgia was looking to book a flight over on VA ATL-MAN, which was $750 odd last week in Econ Classic. But today it is up to $1700….wow!
Any reason for this, is it just reduced availability? Sale isn’t over until midnight, but prices seem to have shot up
Could be various reasons. Cheaper seats bought up or maybe, if less than a month until flight, then prices tend to go up long haul.
That’s crazy, people will choose to go via LHR at that price. What is the travel date?
Anything around 6-7 April for a week. I thought the price at $700 was pretty good but those prices have disappeared.
There are Icelandair options from RDU that might work.
It’s difficult to know how pricing engines work, unless you’re someone who works in that field !
It probably depends on a variety on factors generally, availability, how much cash the airline has got, for example if they’ve just to pay out a load of UK261 claims or been fined by immigration authorities for transporting an inadmissible passenger etc.
It’s annoying when prices go up heavily, it’s just the way airfare prices work.
You might need to look elsewhere if it’s too much
Google price history is your friend here, it went up 6 days ago, the 6th is cheaper, 7th is crazy. (but it’s easter). Click on the price history link here, and yeah prices have gone crazy post march
Use the price alert feature to keep an eye on it.
Thanks @davefl that is an amazing tool. SO by that chart, in a couple of weeks the prices may drop again depending on ticket sales?
